We found a couple high school football offensive linemen who pancake the opposition on the field and on the mic.
Thanks to your submissions, America now knows about a couple of hidden-gem big boys who belt out the National Anthem before beating up the competition.
It’s the best thing I’ve learned while making episodes of Go Fight Win with Wes Blankenship this fall.
We just have HOSSES across the country lettin’ the Star Spangled Banner rip in the pregame festivities.
I knew that occasionally, a player would split time with the band.
But I had no idea that players would sing the anthem in full pads so regularly.
Is it an anomaly? Or are the two clips y’all sent me in the span of one week a sign of something more common?
Either way, it’s a beautiful sight.
High school football offensive linemen are truly the most selfless individuals out there on the field of battle.
No guarantees they’ll get the big-time college offers or the acclaim in the Saturday morning newspaper.
No desire to quit.
So it’s time we give them the recognition they deserve, even if they don’t seek it out.
First, we met an anonymous anthem-singer in Missouri.
His approach: get after it in the radio booth. Sing right in to the PA system, and let freedom ring before a beatdown on the field.
Not only does Jameson Jensen earn that nickname with his 100-proof play; his pipes are smoother than a glass of the strong stuff.
Jensen also sings at halftime occasionally as well.
Check him out here, singing ‘Forever Young’ with the band.
Who knows how many of these multi-talented centers, guards and tackles are out there?
I have confidence that if they exist, the steadily-growing Go Fight Win audience will let me know.
