High school football team accuses rival coach’s wife of ‘SpyGate’

Your average high school football team sees a lot of parents at practice.

If you’ve seen ‘Friday Night Lights,’ think about Tim McGraw’s character. Granted, they aren’t all that intense (or drunk).

But they’re there, and you get used to it.

You recognize the faces who are normally there. And you definitely recognize when the rival coach’s wife is hanging out near the field, with her cellphone pointed at you.

Lakeridge coaches recognized interim Tigard head coach Ken Feist’s wife, Cori, as the woman with the camera. Ken and Cori’s son Jake plays quarterback for Tigard.

Lakeridge head coach Spencer Phillips confronted Cori, and she refused to show him her phone.

Feist claimed she was at the school for an event for her daughter. Tigard conducted an internal investigation and found no reason to punish her.

Even if you do SpyGate a high school football team’s practice, it doesn’t mean you’ll win

Lakeridge had no trouble with Tigard. 6’5″, 240-pound USC commit Joey Olsen had a lot to do with that.

Olsen caught 11 passes for 151 yards and three touchdowns.

Not much you can do against that, even with a heads up.

Lakeridge’s student section was on point as well, chanting, ‘FILM THE SCOREBOARD,’ and ‘YOU CAN’T FILM US,’ and ‘YOU SHOULD FILM THIS.’

Phillips and his high school football team are ready to move on. And for a much more significant reason than winning games.

He learned that former player Barrett Bevacqua died in a plane crash on October 5th.

“Life comes at you fast and it puts life in perspective. It is what it is,” Phillips said.

“Whatever, (the filming incident was) is kind of funny now. I have no disrespect or hard feelings towards anyone, and I’m really just trying to focus on being able to mourn the loss of one of my favorite people and players. The (incident) is really silly, and I hope we can just let it go.”
