Jason Witten has a chance to do something he never did as a member of the Dallas Cowboys:

Win a championship in the state of Texas.

Witten is now finally retired from the NFL after a bit of a renegade career ending.

The all-time-great tight end left the Cowboys in 2018 for a spot in the Monday Night Football booth.

He officially retired as a Cowboy – again – in 2021, following a one-day contract and one year each with Dallas in 2019 and the Raiders in 2020.

Jason Witten and his boys have a shot to win State this week

Argyle Liberty Christian will play Regents School of Austin for the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools – known as TAPPS – D-II high school state title in Waco on Friday.

Witten locked down plenty of accomplishments as a Dallas Cowboys tight end.

He was a two-time first-team All-Pro, 11-time Pro-Bowler, and a Walter Payton Man of the Year.

None of that matters to his players come game time on Friday night.

Then, it’s about 48 minutes of playing for Coach Jason Witten. Or Dad, if you’re star defensive standouts Cooper and C.J. Witten.

Cooper’s the youngest Witten on the field and has more than 50 tackles and three blocked kicks in his freshman season.

Junior standout C.J. leads the team in tackles.

Witten’s career record is pretty impressive, but the most important win is the next one

Jason Witten’s doing alright as a head coach so far.

Since retiring from the League in 2021, Witten’s career record is 25-10.

The devastating Dallas tight end knows ball.

And finally, after a career that saw opportunity after opportunity to deliver a title to crazed Cowboys fans across the Lone Star State, Witten may finally know what it feels like to win a ring.

Get you one, coach.
